My own thoughts: The Fault in our stars

Should have wrote this right after i saw the movie....
it's scary to know that how much one's feeling can change within days...
or that just shows that some things are just not worth wasting time on?
or it could just mean that some feelings are just not that deep and could be forgotten easily?

Well, honestly speaking I wasn't feeling like myself the past week or you could say the past month
I just couldn't watch this movie with anybody at that time and I knew that the only choice is to watch it by myself
my first solo movie since les miserables...
i thought i wouldn't have to do this again but then... life is unpredictable but that is what makes life special right?

I was swallowed by my emotions and I just couldn't function properly the past few weeks..okay..i seemed normal but then i get carried away by my thoughts too much...way too much

but I'm pretty sure that now i'm totally fine or at least 90% okay..I hope that i'm not just being delusional LOL
things just don't always go the way we want to especially relationships
I could always work hard to keep up my grades, work hard to get my ideal work, internships but then for relationships, it takes two to clap...
if wouldn't work if only one side is willing to work hard for it...
I came to a conclusion that why would i want to waste my time on things that are clearly out of my control and try so hard to secure something that wan't to be free?
why not I just let myself free and let it go...
if it's meant to be it will be , if it's not , why fight for it and end up wounded?

I digressed,

yea, the fault in our stars
I've read the book way before the movie came out and TBH i wasn't really deeply connected to the book like most people did...
It didn't leave an impact like how "just one day" did but it was a good read
The movie used to meant something to me but then I promised myself that after watching it, it would be the end of my grief and this pathetic relationship

In the movie, gus said that he hoped that hazel love the choice she made to get hurt by whom
I guess I just haven't meet the right person that i'm willing to get hurt by him
pain demand to be felt? yes..it does
because at least i'm not hiding from pain, i'm trying to feel it until i get numb then it will then have no effect on me anymore, that's the only way to be free from this agony

Did I cry? yes I did and i'm not a person that cries in movies but i threw in personal emotions and I just couldn't stop..especially when Hazel was just sitting by her bed staring into space
I jutted every time they say " okay? Okay. "
I made the right choice to watch this alone as I just couldn't bear to watch it with anybody with my emotions so wrecked but then now I'm okay.

I'm really Okay.

First Impression Review: Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con No.7- The Tease

I'm finally back from my long hiatus...=)
Exam is finally over but it's time to get my butt bck into my project =(
life as a final student is just not a bed of roses....
anyways...back to the topic

Thanks to my dad, I've finally gotten my hands on the Marc Jacobs eye palette!
heard so many beauty bloggers raved about it but it's not sold in Malaysia, so when my dad travelled to the states, I gave him a list of cosmetics that I've been wanting to try but are not available in Malaysia...
as awesome as he is, he found most of the things on the list and today I'm going to do a first impression review on this particular marc jacobs style eye-cpn No.7- The Tease....=)

This is the only Marc Jacobs product i'd asked for since this is one of the most raved products and the price tag is not on my side =(

tadaa~ it palette comes with a protective fabric...looks so luxurious....probably that's why it's so expensive =(

There're a total of 7 shades in this palette, the range that i got is called the tease...it's more of a purply, darker nightlife palette...I've initially asked for the lolita which is a more neutral palette but i guess my dad got me the wrong one...but it's still fine since I don't have many dark, smokey tones in my collection =)
the packaging is just divine! so atas looking right? LOL...

swatches and the shades in the pan to compare =)

the shadows are really pigmented and surprisingly compacted...didn't experience any fallout while i was swatching which is a big YES for any eye shadows!

Will play with it more during this holiday season since CNY is coming = more dress up occasions =)

overall verdict: it's a high quality eye shadow palette but the price is on the steeper side, so if you're not a make up junkie, this might not be the palette for you but it's a really beautiful piece to add into your make up collection =)

next post will be on the rimmel apocalips lip lacquer (p/s: they're amazing!) No idea why all the Rimmel counters in Malaysia are gone =(

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette First Impression Review

yay~! the wait is finally over!
Urban Decay's Naked 3 palette has finally launched in Malaysia! =)
I have been waiting for it since the day it launched in the states and now this baby is finally in my hands =DD

I haven't had the chance to use it yet since i've just got it yesterday,
but i've swatched it and the colours are beautiful =)

just look at it~! the packaging is to die for! this palette resemblance more of the naked 2 palette which is also a plastic material cover....
compared to the first one which is more of a felt/velvety textured packaging..this rose gold packaging is definitely much prettier and much cleaner...
The Naked 1 palette's packaging tends to collect dust due to its fabric surface...
I own the Naked 1 palette myself and that palette is more of a warm neutral, brownish tone whereas this comes more of a pinky vibe...

look at the actual packaging~! the textured plastic makes it looks so creamy and yummy...LOL
It also comes with a sample packed with their most popular eye shadow primer which i'm also a fan of =)
tadaa~~~~ the colours~ so pretty right =)  as you can see, the whole palette has a pink cast to it and it goes from light to dark as usual...
the shadows are mostly frosted finished and 4 are matte shadows...
My favourite shadow at first sight/first swatch is trick (6th from the left)..the finishing is soooo pretty and the colour payoff is just awesome!

swatches:
 right to left: strange-dust-burnout-limit-buzz
Strange can be used as a highlighting colour for your brow bone, inner corners of your eyes etc
dust is a really beautiful shimmery glittery shadow but it flakes quite a bit....and i think you can only wear it on bigger occasions or use very minimal on your lids to make your eyes pop!
buzz is also a very nice frosted shadow but slightly darker than trick ...
Limit is a matte dark movy  pink that can be used as a base all over your lids...
right to left: trick -nooner-liar-factory-mugshot-darkside-blackheart
look at the beautiful frosted finished of trick...divine divine divine...
nooner seems really similar to limit but darker and has more of a brown tint...
blackheart is a brownish black with gold shimmer in it that i think would make a good eyeliner dupe...

the palette also comes with a two headed brush which comes in handy and urban decay make good brushes...not those cheapo ones you get from those usual palettes...

verdict: the pigmentation of most of the shadows are really good..some swatches are only done using one swipe..=O only the first few shadows need more effort on transferring the colours...but nonetheless, it's a good palette to invest on if you are looking for a good neutral palette that is not so boring but yet wearable =)

The price is quite hefty though.. if i've not mistaken, they marked up the price higher than the last 2 palettes =(
That's all for today~ see you next time...

Cheeky Make up haul and First Impression Review

=D
I get overly excited about cosmetics...a bit too excited...
like my mom always say: you have too much make up!
but i happen to have a very soft spot for make up...
long story short...
going to review about the latest brow product from benefit - gimme brow
close friends will know that i have an unhealthy obsession with eyebrows...
unless i'm wearing glasses...if not,i must draw my brows! i don't mind going out bare face which i always do...but i must have my brows filled! because without my brows...i have no face LOL

the packaging itself....the usual benefit retro design
 got mine in medium/dark
 the product itself
the wand is teeni-tiny which is supposed to give more mobility

my eye brow using gimme brow paired with my shu uemura eyebrow pencil..
verdict: it's a perfect product if you have thick eyebrows but with certain sparse area...
but if you have eyebrows like me which has an apologetically amount of hair == then you would need to pair it up with a brow pencil/shadow to achieve the bold eyebrow look...i could pull it off by just using it on my right brow but for my left brow which has even lesser hair, the gel itself is not enough to create the boldness that i want to achieve...
this product softens the harshness of my brows given by the brow pencil and gives my brows a more voluminous look by thickening my natural brows....
well, i would say that it's a good product but just not perfect for people with brows like me...
for people with naturally thick brows...good for you!

next on the list~
NARS and Tarte has finally made their way to Malaysia~!
I have been using NARS's products since being exposed to it when I was in the UK and I was stoked when I can finally get it here! =D

I got only one thing from NARS because I already have a few of their products...
got a blush in the shade Gilda... a peachy, orangey blush which I don't have in my collection =)
 swatch of the blush

first impression: the shade is just too cute to pass up and i just like the orange tint it gives my complexion... best of all, it's not glittery like orgasm which makes it much wearable..=D

now.. last but not least~ Tarte~!
tarte just launched in Sephora this week and I have been wanting to try their products for the longest of time as I've heard so much good things about their things...
didn't get their cult amazonian clay blushes though as I've gotten just a new blush so that will have to wait...
got their limited edition set =D the packaging is sooo pretty!
 eye shadow quad =)
 finishing powder
 lash primer
 mascara
 eyeliner pencil
 lip chubby stick with sharpener
swatches:
the eyeliner pencil is soooo smooth! glides on like a breeze...not sure about the staying power yet...will have to examine longer

 swatches of the eyeshadow quad...
the colour payoff if ok...not as good as urban decay but still decent..will have to try it on more to judge
the wand of the mascara..haven't tried yet...will see =)
the lipstick in the shade smitten
the colour is sooo pretty.... the main reason why i've gotten this set
a not so clear picture of me wearing smitten(lipstick),  gilda(blush) and gimme brow (eyebrow)

I'll end my review here =)
